Did Empire Go out of Business
« on: September 16, 2015, 03:00:36 am »
Can anyone tell me if Empire went out of business. I had a hack installer install some cameras for me several months ago and some of them are bad. The IR stopped working. The installer is long gone and wont respond when I contact him. The camera are still under warranty put I never received an actual receipt for the camera warranty. I want to buy a few more and cant find anything online about them. Can anyone help. I have the Empire Camera ESC3-IP (2.0). If they are gone what other dome camera can I buy that will work with my system. I am a newbe so it may take some time to get this easy thing figured out.    thanks for the help in advance.

Yep, it looks like they went out of business. It's a shame because I really liked their varifocal cameras and the night vision was excellent. I purchased 5 of them.

I had the same problem as you with the IR's quit working on one of them. The rest have been fine. It took a couple of months but they did honor the warranty and replaced my defective camera. I had ordered them directly from their website.

I don't know about their dome cameras. All of the cameras I ordered were varifocal bullets.

It seems Hikvision's and Dahua's are the way to go these days. I still prefer the ESC's when it comes to night IQ.

I have emailed Kyle at empiresecuritycameras@gmail.com and asked him if they still sell cameras and his reply was yes. He also stated he still sells the ECS cams.  I do not know why his website is down.

On a side note: My daughter ordered 3 of the Dahua un-branded 3MP cams from Nelly's and I installed them for her. I was happy with the camera and how the UI on the cam worked perfect with IE11.  My daughter just felt more comfortable ordering from a functional website.

That's good news that they're still in business, but I agree with you and would feel more inclined to order from them again if they had a functional website.

Empire website is back online at  http://www.empiresecuritycameras.com/

Edit: but all I see listed are HDCVI products, not IP cameras.

Thanks digger. Looks like they have some decent prices too with free shipping on Dahua cameras.

Yeah, I was actually tempted to order another IPC1-V then noticed what I was looking at wasn't an IP cam.  If the IP cam was $88 like the HDCVI, and I could use the 28% coupon they included, $64 would have been pretty tempting.

Yeah, that would have been a helluva deal if they were IP cameras. I got that same email with the 28% off coupon. Wish they would start stocking IP cameras again.
