Write to disk for BlueIris not working on Gen2 cameras?

Now that the new firmware supports RSTP that BI can use I purchased 6 Gen2 cameras and added them to my BI setup. Everything seems to go fine but I realized that there were no videos for any of the 6 cameras in the "new" folder.  I UNC'd to the folder and manually started recording and a file appeared with the camera name but 0 bytes. I unchecked the write to disk option and told my BI host to re-encode the video and now it works fine....except I don't want to do that, would rather write it to disc and save CPU utilization.  I tried to search this specific issue and did not see anyone make mention of it.  Any input is appreciated.
