Does anyone have an ACTi KCM-5511 or 5611?  Or have any knowledge of them.  I'm looking for a good license plate camera and the specks on these look really good.  They are a little pricy 600-700 + dollars.  But if it is as good as the specs make it sound, it may be worth "biting the bullet" and get something I won't be disappointed with.

Also found this on youtube

edit:  not sure if this is the correct place to ask this so I'm also posting in the general discussion.

When you watch the video, your first impression may be: "Sweet. Very nice".

But, here's the thing...

The ambient light is very good in this example. Lots of street lights, car lights, shop window lights, etc.
So what you're seeing is the cameras good low light performance in 'day' mode. To do this, they lower the exposure time to probably 1/15 sec., but definitely lower than 1/60th. This is obvious when the scooters drive by, so there is no way you'll be able to grab a license plate with those shutter speeds.
In 'night' mode, they may have 'adaptive' lighting which helps not blow out details, but don't expect consistent results, as the adaptive process takes a second or 2, by which time, the vehicle is out of frame, or far enough away that the detail is gone.
