Best way to focus
« on: March 15, 2015, 05:25:26 pm »
I just bought one of the newer 3MP Empire Version 3 models on clearance.  It's the 2.8-12MM varifocal.  What's the best way to focus these at 2.8MM?  I printed out a star chart and tried it, but when I put it outside, basically what's close is in focus and further out it's just blurry

I focused my 2MP Empire varifocal cameras while mounted in their permanent location using a Nexus 7 Android tablet for viewing while adjusting the focus. It seemed to work well. Focus looks very good on all of them.

I did something almost identical.  I mounted my camera, opened the BI app on my ipad or android phone, and focused the camera while zooming on the image on displayed on my ipad/phone.  It worked well.
